What is an expert? How many of us have sought out advice from an expert and rather than trusting their comprehensive and authoritative knowledge, we listen to our friend who has "done it before". You need to be more than skilled, accomplished, talented, proficient, or gifted to be an expert. Someone with broad competence, knowledge, and skill, acquired through research, education, experience, and practice in a particular field can be considered an expert.
